Letters to the President
Dr. William Christopher,
As a new transfer student here at Cascadia Community College I am quite appalled at the lack of a covered walkway from the campus library to the Cascadia building. I am taking several advanced courses including Chemistry 239, Organic Chemistry III, Math 238, Differential Equations, and Chinese 101, Elemental Chinese, just for fun. Having such a heavy load requires constant trips to the wonderful library on campus, unfortunately such inclement weather make the trips a terrible part of my scholastic experience. My hard work faces a barrage of rain, wind, and recently even snow every time that I attempt to take my work from the library to class. Most recently, the wet trip resulted in a poster for my Chinese class being ruined. This I find simply inexcusable.
One of the reasons that I chose to attend Cascadia is its appearance. I knew that the school was new, and I new that it was state of the art. I can only assume that a school with such state of the art equipment at hand has the funds to build a covered walkway from the library the to Cascadia building. I can only ask that you appropriate some of these funds towards said cause. It would serve to do so much good on campus, to students and faculty alike.
I know that you will take my recommendation to heart. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Aaron Stokke

Yo…What’s up doc? My name is Aaron and I just thought I would write you a letter to ask if maybe you could build a covered walkway from the library to the Cascadia building. It sucks when I walk to the Cascadia building from the library after lunch and get all wet. It totally kills the buzz my from my usual lunch session.
If the school is short on the money to build the covering, which I doubt based on how the place looks, we could hold a bake sale to raise money. I could even help by bringing my special brownies or rice crispies. If the bake sale doesn’t raise enough money you could take some money out of the budget of one or two of the useless classes you offer here, something in either the math or science departments. I doubt that anyone would even really notice a missing class or two. Japanese students could just advance from Japanese I to Japanese III and nobody would no the difference.
I am sure that all students and faculty here at Cascadia would benefit from a covered walkway. You would not get wet on your many trips to the Cascadia building from the library while my fellow students and I would be able to retain our buzz through even wet days; it is a win-win situation. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter. Maybe we can meet for a session one day.
Peace Out,
Aaron Stokke

I enjoyed the party-animal student's letter! The suggestion that the college hold a bake sale was priceless! :)
